Álvaro García Martín

Born in Cantillana, Spain, Álvaro García Martín started playing the trumpet at the age of five in the music school of his village band, ‘La Soledad’. He proceeded to study with Marcelo Marín, Manuel F. Valdivia and Jose Manuel Bernal at the conservatory of Seville.

Álvaro moved to Madrid to study with Benjamín Moreno and Borja Antón, and finished his bachelor's degree in San Sebastián with Luis González and Alfonso González.

He then completed a master's degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Miroslav Petkov and Omar Tomasoni, the Concertgebouw Orchestra’s principal trumpet players.

Álvaro is a member of the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España and co-founder of the ensemble Iyoko. In addition, he has been active in orchestras such as the Concertgebouw Orchestra, the North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra and the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.
