Florianne Remme

Born in Zutphen, The Netherlands, Florianne Remme started playing the cello at the age of eight. She attended the conservatories of Groningen and The Hague, where she was tutored by Jiri Prchal, Corine 't Hoen and Lucia Swarts. She currently studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels with Jeroen Reuling.

Florianne has received several prizes at competitions and festivals, such as the Princess Christina Competition, the Festival Verão Clássico in Lisbon and the Cello Biennale Amsterdam. She has participated in masterclasses by Gary Hoffman, Frans Helmerson, Daniël Müller-Schott and others.

Florianne gives recitals on a regular basis, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician, and has performed several times for Dutch national radio and television. A passionate chamber musician, she is a member of the Audax Piano Trio and the Cortenbach Clarinet Trio.

Florianne uses a cello made by Thomas Bertrand, provided to her by Strings for Talent and the King Baudouin Foundation. She uses a bow by J.J. Martin, Paris, which is on loan from the Dutch National Musical Instruments Fund.
